VIRTUAL CREDIT CARDS ON HDFC BANK DEBIT CARDS:

This is an era of online computing. We opt of things available to our doorsteps without much ados. For this one always go for services like e-shopping, e-ticketing etc. But a big payment related issue is that these services do not accept your plastic Debit Cards.

The problem has been resolved by HDFC BANK-one of the most widely growing bank of ASIA. They provide a method to create a one time use VCC (virtual credit card). This a not an actual plastic card as the name suggests. The payment made through a vcc is one time. So the card expires after you make a payment.

Here a Iam Describing the steps on how to create a VCC using a standard HDFC debit card.

1. Go to HDFC NETSAFE WEBSITE.

2. If you have a netsafe account its good. Go ahead and login.
If you dont have it Click on the REGISTER button and register for the service.
3. Now after logging in, the system will show you the list of your HDFC debit cards which can be used for creating vcc's.

4.  Input an amount for the vcc and click on GO.
5. CONGRATULATIONS............ You are ready to shop. Use the generated vcc number instead of your actual debit card number while shopping.

One should extend using vccs for online transactions as it is a more secure method of transactions because your actual bank account links nowhere during your transactions. Also it is a one time use card, so you are sure that the card expires once you have utilized the value. Make sure that the amount left in the created vcc after a tranasction with a vcc is refunded within 6-7 days of expiration.......................
